The Present, The Future, and Where I Fit

I’m writing what is, for me, an extremely bittersweet blog post. I’ve decided that my last day at VistaComm will be Wednesday, November 27th. It’s been a fantastic 3+ years, probably the best of my life, and I leave knowing that VistaComm is in the hands of 25 very capable friends. I’m proud to be able to say I’ve had at least a small part in shaping what is an amazing workplace culture at VistaComm.

Because of the type of projects they work on, it’ll give me an opportunity to work on something new and interesting every week, with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met. After working with many of them at Sioux Falls Startup Weekend this past weekend, I’m 100% sure we’ll make some really cool stuff together. I know every day will bring new problems that will challenge me as a developer, which will only serve to make me better.

Despite the pain that comes with change, and with leaving friends, I couldn’t be more excited for the future. I’ll still be speaking, I’ll still be blogging, and I’ll still be twitter-ranting. I’ve done everything I can to ensure the designers and developers I work with now are prepared to prove I am totally unnecessary.
